Small Woodland Things

Artist Bio

Hi! I'm Heather Brooks. I live in Asheville, NC. I make this temporal art from mushrooms, berries, nuts and leaves that I find. I grow wildflowers on my property and incorporate them into the art also. I love learning about the ecosystems of the southern Appalachian mountains. And in many ways this art has become a path for learning and facilitating general peacefulness in my life. I post my daily finds on my Instagram page. It can get a little silly there too. Generally speaking, us mushroom folk are an earthy bunch!

From time to time, I will lead a mushroom walk for a non-profit organization. Below are copies of my handouts for those walks. Please, feel free to download!

Thank you for your interest in me and my art. Please, feel free to reach out!
